23rd Absa Champagne in Africa Festival Returned in 2025 — Now Elevated With a National Expansion

Absa just hosted the 23rd Absa Champagne in Africa Festival in Johannesburg on November 14, 2025, at Summer Place in Sandton. For the first time ever, the festival is expanding to Cape Town on November 22 at the Norval Arts Foundation.

"This festival is more than luxury—it's a celebration of craft and culture," said Sydney Mbhele from Absa Group. The Johannesburg event featured over 40 authentic French champagne houses and introduced exciting new elements.

Chef Wandile Mabaso created special food pairings and launched his own French-made champagne exclusively at the festival. Designer Rich Mnisi unveiled a custom fashion collection, including limited-edition silk scarves and pocket squares for attendees.

Guests enjoyed champagne tastings, live music, art, and fashion in an atmosphere of elegance. Absa Rewards members received up to 30% cash back on champagne purchases.

As part of Absa's sustainability efforts, guests were encouraged to keep champagne corks for an upcoming recycling project.
