Get ready for Mpondoland, Mzansi Magic's first IsiMpondo language series, coming December 7 at 8 PM. Set in the mystical village of KwaKhonjwayo, where marijuana farming meets ancient traditions.
The story follows Mkhondwana, a reluctant heir who'd rather pursue art in the city than lead his village as the 'Green thumb.' Just as he accepts his role, trouble arrives in the form of Pele-Pele, a ruthless pharmaceutical exec who wants to buy up all the marijuana plantations.
As chaos erupts in the peaceful village, peace-loving Mkhondwana must find the strength to protect his people from Pele-Pele's aggressive takeover attempts. It's a story about identity, legacy, and standing up for what's right.
"We're celebrating African spirituality and community power," says Shirley Adonisi, M-Net's Director of Local Entertainment. "Mkhondwana's journey shows how to balance tradition with progress."
Catch Mpondoland on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) for a unique blend of culture, drama, and spirituality.
