Neutrogena unveiled its new line of body care products focused on hydration and repair. The launch event was held at the picturesque Shepstone Gardens north of Johannesburg. South African actress and television personality Nomzamo Mbatha, who serves as the face of Neutrogena, hosted the event. So I got the chance to talk to her for a bit, and this is what she told me

How does it feel to be a part of this amazing brand?

Neutrogena has been an effortless and organic brand to represent over the past nine years of partnership. As the brand has evolved over this near-decade long relationship, listening intently to consumers' wants, Neutrogena and I have felt mutually represented in each other's absence. Neutrogena has always prioritised organic connections with its customers by thoughtfully evolving to meet evolving consumer needs. The brand works to understand what more it can provide in the market to encourage continued loyalty. Customers have trusted Neutrogena with their facial skincare, and now the brand aims to expand that trust to body care products.

You mentioned that you appreciate working with the brand because it advocates women's empowerment; what does that mean to you?

Women's empowerment involves understanding equality, equity, and recognizing that women have historically faced disadvantages. It means building a more inclusive world that values diversity and caters to the wide spectrum of women's experiences. It requires showing up for women, creating safe spaces for them, and highlighting both the challenges women face as well as their successes. 

What is the importance of skincare?

Skin care is an important aspect of overall health and wellness. As the largest organ of the body, our skin plays a key role in how we present ourselves to the world. Maintaining healthy, optimal skin can positively impact self-esteem and body image. It is only natural to want to care for such a prominent outward representation of one's inner health and personality. While skincare routines will vary between individuals, most agree it is worthwhile to dedicate time and resources towards keeping this vital organ functioning at its best.
