Zamajobe Sithole Set To Perform at the Sounds of Legends Festival

Music fans are in for a treat as the talented Zamajobe Sithole will perform at this year's highly anticipated Sounds of Legends Festival. The soulful vocalist, known for her unique blend of jazz, soul, and Afro-pop elements, will bring her captivating stage presence to what promises to be an unforgettable musical celebration.

I recently caught up with Zama who's bubbling with excitement about the upcoming Sounds of Legends Festival—a carefully curated music celebration honoring artists who contributed to South Africa's liberation through their music, scheduled for December 20, 2025. Following a "VINTAGE" theme, the event will also showcase performances by MXO, Brian Temba, La' Sauce, Quality Biyela, and Bheki Ngcobo Mzukulu just to mention a few.

During our chat, Zama opened up about how meaningful it is to honor the music legends who shaped South Africa's musical landscape. "These artists paved the way for all of us," she reflected. At the festival, she plans to perform classics from legends like Mam' Letta, Brenda Fassie, and Yvonne Chaka Chaka, alongside tracks from her new album "UMI"—which has already scored two SAMA award nominations, quite the achievement considering it's her first release in a decade. Zama proudly mentioned that while staying true to her signature sound, this fourth studio album was produced independently through her own record company.

She's been taking her album across the country, with Cape Town performances wrapped up in November and a Durban tour lined up for this month.

## The Secret to Musical Longevity

When I asked how her music has remained relevant over the years, Zama emphasized that longevity in the challenging music industry requires respect for your craft and genuine appreciation for your supporters.

"At the end of the day, we connect with people who buy our music—music that heals them or brings them joy. It's important to never forget that," she explained. "Having passion and love for your craft and constantly reinventing yourself is also essential."

## On Black Excellence

As iStyleBlaqNews celebrates black excellence, Zama shared her perspective: "To me, black excellence is about showing up for yourself and coming through for your community, committing, staying positive, and persevering on your path. It's about overcoming obstacles because as black people, we didn't have many opportunities created for us. It's all about resilience, and black excellence needs to be continually highlighted."

Fans can catch Zama at the upcoming Sounds of Legends Festival and at tour dates promoting her new album "UMI." She also hinted at possibly releasing another album next year, suggesting this comeback is just the beginning of her renewed musical journey.
