Mandisi Dyantyis to headline free concert at the Desmond Tutu Peace Lecture

South African musical storyteller Mandisi Dyantyis will headline the 15th Annual Desmond Tutu International Peace Lecture on November 20, 2025, at the Cape Town International Convention Center.

The award-winning composer and trumpeter will perform live, honoring Archbishop Tutu's belief that music helps heal a nation's soul. Dr. Shashi Tharoor will deliver the keynote address on faith and moral courage in a conflict-ridden world.

The event will also showcase winners of the Tutu Legacy Foundation Youth School Debate. "Our youth are not the leaders of tomorrow, they are the conscience of today," says Janet Jobson, CEO of the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation.

Additionally, the event will display submissions from the Letters of Peace campaign. Everyone can participate by submitting through www.tutu.org.za/lettersofpeace or posting on social media with #LettersOfPeace and #PeaceInAction.

The event starts at 3pm, and free tickets are available on Quicket.
