I've been keeping up with Ntozinhle Lifestyle and really love their fresh, practical designs. I'm also thrilled to highlight this Sowetan brand and their newest collection.
Sphelele Nozipho Chikowi, who goes by Lele, is the creative mind behind Ntozinhle Lifestyle. She grew up in Soweto and started the company back in 2012 because she was passionate about beadwork. At first, she ran a hair salon while doing clothing design and costume jewelry on the side. After an accident that left her unable to walk or speak, she went through rehab and refused to rely on disability grants. That's when Ntozinhle Lifestyle really took off.
Lele found her groove at pop-up shops around the country, building up a dedicated group of customers. After two years, she decided to take her beadwork passion even further. A trip to Kenya brought back Massai pieces that customers absolutely loved the way she styled them. She worked hard to change how people thought about beadwork and African design - proving it could be stylish everyday clothing, not just something for traditional ceremonies.
"For 16 years, I've been all about celebrating color, bold prints, and vibrancy. But I've always felt drawn to black and white. It's not about missing color - it's really the foundation of style. There's something powerful about timeless, effortless pieces that don't need to be loud to make a statement.
That's what inspired our collection: The Monochrome Love Story. I wanted pieces that would work with whatever's already in your closet - pieces that complement, elevate, and transform while still standing confidently on their own. Every piece carries that unmistakable Ntozinhle spirit through bold silhouettes, striking details, and thoughtful craftsmanship."
