AfroFuture just dropped "Mngani Wam," the second single from their BAL'ING ON THE CONTINENT project, following Juno Kizigenza's "Funk Sauce (Wagwan)" release. The project is distributed through The Continent.Live and Orchard West Africa.
"Mngani Wam" (meaning "my friend") brings together producer K-Zaka, duo Uncool Angels, and Amapiano vocalist Philharmonic in a celebration of friendship. The track blends Afrohouse and Amapiano styles, focusing on loyalty and companionship that resonates across Africa.
BAL'ING ON THE CONTINENT emerged from AfroFuture's travels during Basketball Africa League Season 5, where they connected with artists across different African markets. The project aims to unite diverse sounds and languages while promoting basketball culture throughout Africa.
"We're using music—one of Africa's biggest cultural influences—to promote basketball and foster unity," says Khadijat El-Alawa from AfroFuture. After a successful industry preview last December, the project is now rolling out to fans across Africa and beyond.
