South Africa’s Fashion Week Evolves into The Week of Fashion South Africa

SA Menswear Week is evolving into something much bigger – THE WEEK OF FASHION SOUTH AFRICA. This new platform celebrates all of South African fashion design, not just menswear.

What's New?

You'll still get two seasonal shows:

• Autumn/Winter 26: April 23-25, 2026

• Spring/Summer 27: October 12-17, 2026

Why the Change?

Designers have been asking for years to showcase womenswear alongside menswear. When the pandemic hit and SA Menswear Week became the region's only fashion week still doing live shows, it was the perfect time to expand while keeping that strong menswear foundation.

The idea is straightforward: bring the whole industry together so more South Africans discover local talent, which helps both creativity and business thrive.

**What You'll Experience**

This isn't just one event – it's a complete fashion ecosystem built on four pillars: Collections, Conversations, Commerce, and Cultural leadership.

The platform features:

• South African Menswear Week (the original)

• The Womenswear Collections (dedicated runway shows)

• GradWeek (emerging talent showcase)

• Global Fashion Graduate (international opportunities)

• The FASHtalks (industry discussions)

• TheShowRooms (retail and trade)

• Fashion Map Cape Town (luxury fashion tourism)

• The WOF Club (hospitality and entertainment)

• HIM – The Face of Menswear Week (model development)

**Global Connections, South African Heart**

While staying true to South African culture, the platform connects designers with international audiences and opportunities through a growing global network.

Founder Simon Deiner puts it simply: "Fashion weeks need to work with designers and adapt to changing media. THE WEEK OF FASHION SOUTH AFRICA creates a smarter, more connected ecosystem."

He continues: "We're not expanding – we're formalizing what was already happening. We want to show that South African designers compete globally, and we want everyone to see that."

Bottom line: this is fashion week for the next decade – mature, leading, globally connected, but still a family working together to grow South African fashion.
